Harriette Brown (Chef Bee) | Black History Month

Harriette's mobile cafe and catering business "Sisters On A Roll" seeks to make wholesome and healthy food conveniently accessible to those who otherwise would not have access to a restaurant with a menu like theirs.

Harriette Brown, dearly known as Chef Bee in her community, lives by Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” She uses this biblical passage to help others understand giving and caring for one’s community as a way of life.

While pushing a friend’s wheelchair to business class, Harriette began to sit in and allow herself to dream and develop this idea of her becoming a vegan food restaurant owner. An idea that until then, had only lived in her imagination. For some time, Harriette had been struggling with her health and weight, and had found that a healthy diet is essential for a healthy life. She wanted to share with this the world, what she had learned and the skills she developed along the way.

Harriette’s mobile cafe and catering business “Sisters On A Roll” seeks to make wholesome and healthy food conveniently accessible to those who otherwise would not have access to a restaurant with a menu like theirs. Before the pandemic, Harriette sold her food through a restaurant that is currently closed. She has not let that stop her and she has taken to receiving online orders and over the phone for curbside pickups, and we know she’ll continue to be unstoppable.

Harriette Brown is #BlackExcellence.
