Eutan Goufred Ngoulou Lackagenie | Black History Month 2021

His last job gave him the experience which would fuel his dream of “finding a purpose” through business, but his stay at Freedom House inspired him to begin his cleaning company years ago by the idea of reconstructing Detroit.

Eutanhas been “leading and taking initiative since he was 12 years old” and describes himself as a natural-born leader and entrepreneur. He was born in Brazzaville, Congo and speaks 12 dialects aside of French, the official language of his country. Before he came to the United States in August 2015, he lived 7 years in Switzerland, where he worked at the government palace as a service and cleaning concierge. Early during his life in the United States, he was a resident of Freedom House, an organization supporting immigrant refugees and asylum seekers.

His last job gave him the experience which would fuel his dream of “finding a purpose” through business, but his stay at Freedom House inspired him to begin his cleaning company years ago by the idea of reconstructing Detroit. Once the 5th largest city in the U.S., he walked around and saw “broken-down homes, eroded roads, and littered alleyways”. The ProsperUs Detroit Entrepreneurship Training Program was only a small push that gave Eutan the tools necessary to take off the ground completely, and Freedom Cleaning Company LLC was officially up and running in February 2020.

Eutan has continued to pursue his business dream and has been working on molding his vision for Detroit since. His goals are to enlarge his business and be able to purchase his own cleaning equipment and machinery to take on more industrial jobs and negotiate bigger contracts.

Eutan Goufred Ngoulou Lackagenie is Black Excellence.
